I began my career at Tresses on Agnes street in 1993 as an apprentice.  Surrounded by talented Senior Hairdressers I was very lucky that I got to learn many facets of the hair craft.

Upon completion of my apprenticeship I immersed myself in extra education.  Master Colour and Cutting Courses was my go to.   It was also common for me to go to the Southern Hair Expos to learn about new techniques and products. I also loved to participate in the local hair competitions in the CQ area, winning Senior Hairdresser of the Year.

It was after 7 years of hairdressing I went on to study a Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training to become a hairdressing TAFE Teacher. Three years into teaching, whilst I loved it, my passion really was creating beautiful bespoke hair for my clients. It was a simple mission, born out of my passion for hair and the rush you get when you’re finished someones hair and they say I love it! I needed it back in my life and fast.

I went on to purchase Tresses on Agnes Street. I evolved the business from a small team to a team of 9 Hair and Beauty Professionals and renamed the business Tresses Hair & Body. During this time I also became a Colour Technician and Technical Educator for NAK fir over 3 years.

In 2021 I became Tresses Studio. It’s now just me Ali… I now work solo as a Freelance Independent Hairdresser. After covid I decided to share my beautiful Boutique Space on The Range in Rockhampton with other Hair and Beauty Professionals. I turned the premises into a Hair & Beauty Hub.

330 Agnes & Co was born, Rockhampton’s Hub for Freelance Hairdressers and Beauty Professionals. Yes same location but sharing with other like minded business people in the Hair and Beauty Industries.

For me working one on one with my clients it’s all about YOU and your experience as the customer. The aim… to create beautiful hair and deliver the very best service, day in and day out.

For me Hairdressing is a passion not just a job.
